Lester's Analysis:
Question 1:
Recurring themes in the answers were things like mystery, horror and things not being as they first appear. This was the intended result og the trailer, and as such we were pleased with this feedback. We concluded that we had chosen an appropriate name for our film.
Question 2:
About 24% of respondents answered 'yes', about 24% answered 'no' and the rest answered 'kind of'. This is a fairly good result, as their previous impressions were made after only reading the title of the film.
Question 3:
About 65% answered 'better', and the other 35% answered 'about the same'. This is a good result, as it means our storyboard was better than most people's interpretations of what the film would be after reading the title. (Of course, this could mean that our title didn't give a good impression, but on a later quesion about the title, most of the respondents indicated that they thought it was good.)
Dominic's Analysis:
My analysis:
Question 7:
The response to question 7 was overly positive at about 70% in our favour, indicating we have indeed included enough shots showing characters' expressions and emotions. However, as 30% said it could be better and we received a comment saying it's "not always clear from descriptions what they are supposed to be thinking", we made the descriptions clearer on our storyboard and we will ensure we include lots of close ups when we film our trailer.
Question 8:
The response to question 8 was overwhelmingly positive, with a whopping 88% saying they'd watch the trailer and the other 12% saying they might watch it. From this, we've concluded our storyboard has achieved its purpose and will provide a solid ground on which to build our trailer.
Question 9:
About 82% of people said they would/would probably watch the film if it was made, and the other 18% said maybe they will. Therefore, we have concluded we have done a good job with our storyboards and we will be sure to keep the trailer at the same high standard.
Question 10:
Though a lot of responses to this question were irrelevant to our work (it was an open question), the ones that were relevant were all positive with people saying things such as "very good looking trailer" and "good story line". We have concluded that we've done a good job with our storyboards and have set the standard high for our trailer.
This is my A2 Media Studies blog where I will post all of my coursework. Our focus genre this year is horror. Enjoy. :)
